Homoeopathic Consultations – The Integrated Approach
Leah’s emphasis is on providing health care to the whole family within a professional, compassionate, nurturing and caring environment. She is passionate about homeopathy and her work.
As a mother of six her interest in natural therapies started when her eldest son was diagnosed with ADD and was further intensified when her youngest son was diagnosed with ADHD. Through the use of whole foods and homeopathic remedies her son’s health has improved steadily and has been off Ritalin for three years now. Although Leah has a special interest in children’s behavioral problems, her other focus is on Allergies and Asthma. Leah is looking forward to qualify in March 2010 as an Asthma Educator.
Her broad international background in nursing, natural therapies and whole foods bring a powerful mix of tools and understanding to her clients. As a homoeopathic practitioner Leah benefits from her medical background which allows her to assess symptoms that call for a medical referral to the GP and those that would benefit from homeopathy. Leah very strongly believes that no patient has to choose between homeopathic and conventional medicine. Homoeopathic remedies are easily integrated with conventional medicine and can be taken along with many medications or other treatments.
Leah runs her clinic from the Sydney CBD on Tuesdays 9:00 am – 7 pm providing homoeopathic treatment for the whole family for a variety of acute and chronic illnesses. Homoeopathic consultation involves in-depth case taking and therefore appointments are required in order to ensure the most effective treatment is provided.
Homeopathic consultations are very different from a visit to a GP. During the first session, Leah will be taking detailed and extensive case notes in order to gain a complete understanding of your condition and your general state of health. Leah will ask questions relating to your current symptoms and past medical history, diet & lifestyle, sleep and about some mental and emotional aspects if required. After the consultation Leah will spend time studying and preparing an analysis of these notes before making your first prescription. We will arrange a time at the end of the first consultation for you to collect your homoeopathic remedy.
Acute Clinic
Simple, acute complaints may only take 15 – 30 minutes for which Leah offers a “Drop in Clinic” providing short homeopathic consultations for a variety of acute illnesses on Tuesday mornings from 7:30 am – 9:00 am and in the evening from 5:30pm – 7:00pm from her clinic located on Level 6, Suite 42, 301 Castlereagh Street, Sydney CBD. The types of conditions that can be treated in an acute clinic are those that naturally have a short life span such as colds, flu, skin irritations, teething problems & colic in babies, mastitis, tummy aches, sore throat, earache, back pains, hangovers and minor injuries (cuts, bruises and sprains). No appointment is required. More chronic cases involve in-depth case taking and therefore appointments are required in order to ensure the most effective treatment is provided.
Ongoing Support
Leah provides ongoing support to her clients and encourages regular contact by phone or email to keep track of the treatment progress. During an acute illness Leah will be in touch with you every day until the condition improves.
Follow up visits
The first follow up appointment may be three to six weeks after taking the initial remedy depending on your individual circumstances. Subsequent appointments will vary between 2 1⁄2 to 4 months but are dependent on your condition. This will ensure that you receive the best Homoeopathic Care.
Wellbeing at the Workplace
Leah is available to provide homoeopathic support and treatment for acute and chronic conditions in the workplace either half a day or all day once a month. Staff members are able to “drop in” for acute conditions such as sore throat, colds, and minor injuries such as cuts, bruises and sprains. More chronic conditions such as stress, mood or sleep or performance issues involve in-depth case taking and therefore, appointments are required in advance in order to ensure the most effective treatment is provided.
